Every great movement starts with a personal story. This is ours — born from love, built through challenges, and driven by the belief that every child deserves to be celebrated for who they are.

My journey with my son Javier opened my eyes to something many parents quietly struggle with. When he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, I realized the world wasn't built with children like him in mind. Schools weren't always prepared. Systems weren't always supportive. And many parents were left trying to figure everything out on their own.
As I navigated homeschooling, therapies, school meetings, and daily routines, I noticed something important — many parents were overwhelmed and didn't know where to start. I started Beyond Normal because I wanted parents to know they are not alone. A space where parents raising children on the spectrum could find support, education, community, and encouragement.
Too often children with autism or other differences are labeled as 'problems,' 'difficult,' or 'behind.' But I see something different. I see children who think differently, learn differently, and experience the world in unique ways. Beyond Normal was created to celebrate those differences instead of hiding them. Because different does not mean broken.
One of the biggest decisions I made for my son was homeschooling. It wasn't easy, but it allowed me to create a learning environment that worked for him. Many parents want to homeschool but feel afraid. That's why I created resources — to give parents a starting point and confidence.
The challenges I faced with schools, diagnoses, misunderstandings, and stress could have broken me. Instead, they built something inside me. They built a mission. Beyond Normal is my way of turning my family's journey into something that helps other families.
Children on the spectrum deserve patience, understanding, opportunities, and environments where they can thrive. Beyond Normal exists to remind the world that these children are not less — they are simply beyond normal.
Beyond Normal was created to support, educate, and empower families raising children on the autism spectrum by providing resources, community, and encouragement for parents navigating homeschooling and life with neurodivergent children.
